Cherish's Success Story
(Cherish - mare_serinitatis)

I will have been on CALP for 5 years this fall. When I started, I was 235, struggling with fibromyalgia and am pretty sure I was becoming diabetic. (I didn't have health insurance and didn't see a doctor, but in retrospect, it seems pretty obvious.) Within 12 mos., I lost 90 pounds...I suppose I averaged about 1 3/4 pounds per week. The best part is that within a year of losing all the weight, my fibromyalgia was *gone*. (You don't know how many doctors have told me that they've never met someone who has had it go away.) Because of all of this, I decided to go back to school (I didn't feel physically able to before losing the weight), and am now working on a masters degree.

I'm about 165 right now. At one point, I'd gotten down to 145, but I had a bout with some meds that pushed me up to 180 last year. I really would like to get to 130-140ish range, which is why I came back here. However, my favorite thing about this WOE is that I really enjoy not having to buy clothes at the 'large womens' store.

Stick with it! I don't think I could ever give this up because I feel so much better than I used to...I wouldn't ever want to go back to feeling that sick and miserable.
