Tidbits & Advice

A journaling idea to help stay positive and focused on goals
(Cindy - cindytree)

Basically, the exercise is to write a new affirmation in a journal every day. For us, an affirmation could be "I will perservere and take this way of eating one day at a time. I only have to be perfect one meal, one day at a time." Or, "I am one day closer to my goal of being healthy and at my best weight. I'm awesome!" My personal affirmation today is "I have this day as a clean slate and will make choices that get me closer to my goal. Perserverence is simply a choice based on fact and truth, not on feelings or emotion."

The idea is to write what you want to believe and see become part of your mindset even if you aren't there yet. Writing it out keeps it in your mind and soon what you think about is what you will believe and what you believe about yourself is what you become. There's nothing mystical nor new age about that. It is simply one of those laws of nature that happens. Even the Bible says that what we think in our hearts is what we are.
